Cord Strap

Polyester Strapping · The Steel Strapping Replacement

Cord Strap

Cord strap (polyester strapping) is woven from high-strength polyester fibers and heat-bonded, used with fiber buckles or galvanized steel buckles for bundling pallets, cartons, panels and more. Its breaking strength matches steel strapping of the same size — at roughly one-sixth the weight — with no rust, no cut hands and no dangerous snapping. The most popular flexible alternative to steel and PET strapping today.

  • Breaking strength up to 1,800 kg
  • As strong as steel strapping of the same size
  • Rust-free, hand-safe, snap-free
  • About 1/6 the weight of steel strapping
  • Flexible — won't gouge cargo surfaces
  • Width and color customizable

Tezheng cord strap is high-strength polyester strapping (13–32 mm widths, 400–1,800 kg breaking strength) that replaces steel strapping at roughly one-sixth the weight. Woven polyester fibers, heat-bonded, used with fiber or galvanized steel buckles for pallet and carton bundling. No rust, no cut hands, no dangerous snap-back. Width, color and coil length customizable. Lead time approx. 20 days from production to arrival at port.

Features

Steel-Grade Strength

The 32 mm cord strap reaches 1,800 kg breaking strength — on par with steel strapping, locking down heavy pallets with ease.

Safer Handling

No snapping, no rust, no cut hands — and no recoil injuries when cut. Warehouse teams work with greater peace of mind.

Lightweight

About one-sixth the weight of steel strapping — one person carries a coil easily, and strapping goes faster.

Gentle on Cargo

Soft fibers conform to cargo edges without the pressure marks steel leaves — ideal for cartons, appliances and finished goods.

Weatherproof

Polyester absorbs no water and never rusts — reliable in humid ocean shipping and open-yard storage.

Recyclable

Recyclable material — and switching from steel eliminates the hassle of scrap steel strap disposal.

Applications

Cord strap bundling palletized cartons

Almost anywhere steel or PET strapping is used today, cord strap is a drop-in replacement:

A natural fit for export palletizing: no rust staining the cargo, no cut hands, and easier unpacking for overseas customers — which is why more and more exporters specify cord strap.

How to Use

  1. Wrap the load

Pull the strap from the coil and wrap it around the palletized cargo, overlapping the ends with enough length for the buckle.

  2. Thread the buckle

Feed the strap end through the fiber or steel buckle, keeping the buckle on a flat face rather than a corner.

  3. Tension with the tool

Grip the tail with a manual tensioner, pull to the desired tension, lock off and trim the excess.

  4. Check and confirm

Verify the buckle is seated, the strap lies flat without twists — typically 2–4 straps per pallet.

Manual tensioners, fiber buckles and steel buckles available as a kit. Free remote guidance for first-time customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The 32 mm cord strap reaches 1,800 kg breaking strength — on par with steel strapping of the same size — at about one-sixth the weight, with no rust, no cut hands and no snap-back injuries. More and more exporters now specify cord strap for palletizing.

Match width to load weight: 13 mm (400–500 kg) for light cartons, 16–19 mm (550–900 kg) for standard pallets, 25–32 mm (1,000–1,800 kg) for heavy loads. Tell us your cargo type and we will recommend the specification.

Fiber buckles or galvanized steel buckles, tensioned with a manual tensioner. We supply complete strapping kits — strap, buckles and tensioner together.

Cord strap is softer and hand-safe with no sharp edges; it conforms to cargo without the pressure marks steel leaves, making it better for cartons, appliances and finished goods. See our comparison: Cord Strap vs Steel Strapping.

Yes. Polyester absorbs no water and never rusts, so it holds up in humid ocean shipping and open-yard storage — unlike steel, which rusts and stains cargo.
